    Retail, Residential and Flex/Office Projects Pace Latest Development Approvals

    Three new projects characterize city's real estate development activity.
     
    The City of Westminster recently approved site plans for three new real estate development projects.  The projects exemplify the city’s burgeoning development pipeline.  Currently, the city has 20 projects under construction, 14 approved and awaiting construction, and 14 proposed projects in review.
     
    New Retail Building in Bradburn Approved
    Bradburn Northern Associates have received administrative approval to construct a one-story commercial building at the southeast corner of Vrain Street and Main Street in the Bradburn subdivision on the 120th Avenue corridor in Westminster.  The building will contain about 14,800 square feet of commercial retail space.  
     
    No tenants have not been confirmed for the project. Construction is expected to begin this summer.
     
    New Flex/Light Industrial Buildings in Park Centre Office Park
    Entasis Group received site plan approval for two, flex/light industrial buildings in the Park Centre Office Park near 124th Avenue & Pecos.  The buildings will total 17,173 square feet.
     
    Zoning allows these uses in the buildings:  professional offices, research and development labs, warehousing, fabrication, repair shops, light manufacturing, and wholesaling.  
     
    The southern building will have seven units with an upper-story office unit.  The northern building will have two large units. 
     
    Construction should begin late this year or early next year.
     
    Single Family Homes at 128th & Huron
    On June 8, the Westminster City Council approved a preliminary and official development plan for the Huron Park (Tanglewood Creek) site at the northeast corner of 128th Avenue and Huron Street. 
     
    Century Communities will build 210 detached single-family residential units on 86 acres.  Eleven floor plans will be available.  Lots will be a minimum of 7,000 square feet. 
     
    Amenities will include a pool, clubhouse, and private park areas and trails. Private green space will total 11 acres. 

    A ten foot wide concrete regional trail following Tanglewood Creek will define the east edge of the residential area.  A 16-acre parcel east of the creek will become public open space and provide a buffer to I-25 to the east.

    Construction is anticipated to begin this year with some homes ready for occupancy in 2016.
